And so it begins..

This weekend we went to an engagement party for my friend Megan and her fiance, Kyle. It was at her parent's Lake House in Big Lake. The "cabin" (which is Not So Much A Cabin And More Like A House) was gorgeous. I wish I had taken pictures. The party was from 1-4pm and we showed up at 3:45. Nice, huh? It was the soonest we could get there. Jeremy went and did a closet install in the morning in South Anchorage and of course Big Lake is the complete opposite direction.
Megan's little neice, Kate, was there as well and was LOVIN on Jack. They were so adorable together. Is there anything as cute as when little kids hold hands or hug? (Or, as in the case above, put eachother in headlocks). Anyways, I got this photo from their very organized family website.
After the engagement party, we stopped by my mom's house to celebrate my little bro's birthday (11!) and ended up getting home around 10:00 (Late for us, haha!) He got Guitar Hero (Of Course!). Sunday was out to the Valley again (see why we're moving there!?) for "designated" family dinner night (1st Sunday of the month- Jeremy's parents house, 3rd Sunday- My parents house). We played the card game"Hand and Foot", which I still really didn't understand by the time we left that night.
Oh! Today I bought tickets for Blue October. They're coming to our State Fair. I'm so excited!!

This is your Love Test

OK, I am not a big TV person. But, somehow within just the last three weeks I started watching American Inventor. I think that this lady was my true inspiration to continue watching the show (can NOT stop laughing about this). What's even better, is that she is from Utah and is a blazin Mormon if I've ever seen one. She says the "Love Test" (click to watch) is her invention and she sings her song to help her through "her trials and tribulations". Is the word "tribulation" owned by the Mormon church or something? Because noone else says that. Ever.

Direct Quote: "I dare you to take the love test! Take the love test! / See how much he loves you / when he helps you clean up. / Is he kind to your pet / from the first day you met? / Hold on tight, he's Mr. Right./ This is your love test if you pass this, uh huh, you can be with me!"
Great Stuff.

Anyways, we finally called a realtor to just get our house sold. We were tired of dealing with it and haven't really done anything to sell it for a month now. So, she came and wants to list it for $20,000 more than we were. Which would be great if it sold for that or even close to that, because that would cover our realtors fees!! We're excited to see if anything happens, but not holding our breath for anything too soon.

This week had been good. I have only been in the office one day so far, so I've been able to get some much needed cleaning done! It feels soo good to have a clean house!

Jack's new word is "thank you" (muffled) and he says it ALL the time, for anything and everything you hand him. I love it when he does things that make me look like a good mom, haha!! Except everytime I go to pick him up from ANYONES house he runs away screaming. Then I have to haul him away kicking while I'm sure they're thinking that I must beat my kid. Does anyone else's kids do that?!

In His Shoes...

Jack has a mild obsession with shoes.... Scratch that, it's not mild.

It doesn't matter where we go, who's shoes they are, brown heavy work boots or pink high heels.. if he can slip his foot into them, he will.

Jack was wearing his dad's shoes around the house this morning when 2 things occured to me:

1. I don't have any pictures of Jack in Big People shoes. I CAN'T belive this, as he's in Big People shoes all the time.

2. If he continues to follow in his dad's footsteps, In His Shoes, I will be a very happy mother.

I never did a tribute to Jeremy for Father's Day because the whole month of June just got away from us.

Jeremy is one of the most amazing men. He is such a great Dad and Husband. He's patient (not so much with everyone in society but he is with me, haha!) He has a very calm demeanor and he is the one person on Earth who can keep me grounded. He has a strong testimony, he's honest and he is the perfect man to head our household.

I feel so blessed to have such wonderful Boys in my life!!

Our Non-eventful Week

So, I had Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday off and still couldn't manage to get a post in, what a loser! On Monday and Tuesday I honestly cannot remember what I did. I know that I went into Anchorage with Jack and met up with Jeremy at the Post Office to get their passports. We are going to Mexico with Jeremy's parents in November. So, after waiting in line for 30 minutes (meanwhile getting yelled at for letting Jack play around the "screen" they use for a photo backdrop) we get up to the lady and she tells us that she cannot take pictures of kids because that would require taking two seconds and adjusting the camera down 6". (Only, she didn't word it like that.) She said there was a photography studio upstairs that will take passport photos and we could go up there and take his photo, then bring it back downstairs and get in line again. Wonderful.
Every year for the 4th of July, our family goes to the Harmans (The family of my sister's fiance) Lucky for us, Jeremy's family ALSO goes every year so we never have to "choose" which family we spend the 4th with! So nice! It was a fun day except right before we sat down to eat, it clouded up and began to drizzle. So, we moved everything indoors. Later, we went 4-wheeling and played games. I was too lazy to take pictures..I don't know why I didn't, I always kick myself afterwards!
This weekend we helped Heidi and Scott (sister and BIL) move out of her house and into my parents basement. She is doing the whole live with parents thing as well, so that by next winter we can both have beautiful houses right by eachother, right Heidi?! So excited for that.
Jack's getting so big. His newest phrase is "whoa, cool!" although he will never say it on command, so don't even ask.

Being a first time Mother..

this has me FREAKED out. I picked up Jack from my mom this evening and saw it. She told me earlier today that it was red and starting to swell.. but that she didn't think it was anything to worry about. (Of course, this is coming from a woman who has 5 kids;))
Anyways, called the doctor and was told to bring him in in the morning. I'm thinking "No helicoptors, huh?" Apparently, he's not going to die. But, I was scared.
We almost have our bathroom done. My house is a SUCH a mess. I need to look into some storage units to get some of our stuff OUT of the house before we show it. It's been so hard to work on the house with all the family that's been here and with the beautiful weather.
Heidi (my sister) has already sold her house, so we are behind! They sold it for more than they thought they would get for it, so that's a good sign.
I got some more fabric today from my big order, some of it had been backordered. I have a few projects that I'm kicking around, I'm seriously wondering what Jeremy will say if I pull out my sewing machine in the middle of this huge mess and just start sewing?? That might be humerous.

Asleep at the wheel

As I was working up in the office this afternoon I realized that I heard something rather unusual around this home.
Nothing.
Jack was eating lunch and talking and playing. Most anything Jack does, whether we are in sacrement meeting, the grocery store, or on a plane... includes talking and playing (with a few screams mixed in for good measure)
So I had to laugh to see this- Jack had fallen asleep in his high chair.;)
