Our House..

is still not SOLD. We have had 2 people come look at it and both LOVED it but thought they needed more than 2 bedrooms. (Yeah.. a 2,000 sq. ft. house with only 2 bedrooms. We have the ability to have 3-4 bedrooms if we added windows in our "theater room" but we never did. Bad decision.) Soo, we've thought about putting the windows in, but we haven't reached that point yet. There is a couple that is moving here on July 11th and they are REALLY interested, they are fine with the 2 bedrooms, since they have no kids and will only be here 3 years as they are military. We may lower the price but not until this couple looks at it.

Anyways, here's some photos of what we've done to it. Befores and Afters. Please note the befores were taken when we were looking to buy the house, not after we moved in. I do not own pink towels nor do I believe in poofy valances.

They should really do a study

on Alaskan water. I promise you, when it comes out of our tap, it should be FROZEN. It defies science. This is why, growing up, "ice water" was just not something that we ever requested. Water the temperature of dry ice will do just fine, and that is easy and readily available by just filling up from the faucet.

Anyways, while convenient for a refreshing drink, it is not so convenient for a would-be swimmer like Jack on an Alaskan sunny day (which by the way, we've been having so much of! Jeremy actually called a restaurant tonight to see if they had air conditioning before deciding whether we'd go. They didn't. Nobody does. This is Alaska.) So, we fill this little baby up and as the ice cystals are forming I figure I better bring in some backup. I brought out buckets of hot water, but it was no match for Alaskan water. We finally got the water "tolerable"- and Jack finally got in. In case you were wondering- "tolerable" is approximately 9/10 HOT water and 1/10 Alaska water.

The couple that couldn't make up their mind

Soo.. now my sister is saying that they are getting married up here in the Alaska temple. Bummer. I really wanted to go to Utah.
If he looks tall, that's because he is. Well, if you call 6'-7" tall. And I thought MY husband was tall.
I have to apologize to Jeremy for what I'm sure was nothing more than a rather sucky Father's Day. We have so much to do with our house/moving and are getting so stressed that he literally asked me at one point today if I by chance had any Crack. Fresh out, sorry. But, he gave me a good idea for NEXT Father's Day. Anyways, so I made him breakfast and then we spent the evening rushing between the two family's homes as we do every Holiday. I can't complain, we LOVE having family nearby. I didn't even have his present yet because when I tried to leave to go get it yesterday he said we didn't have time. I can't wait to be done with this moving. As if I didn't respect our military families enough as it is already, I have to say that moving brings on a whole new appreciation!
Hope everyone had a great Father's Day.

Craigslist

We have officially put our house "on the market".. so to speak. We are trying our luck on Craigslist. If we sell our house on this site, I will officially be in love with it and may even make it my homepage. My husband checks it every 15 minutes at work.. and I wonder why we have so much CRUD all over our house??! (Which also goes to prove, at least for me, that no matter what... you end up with someone JUST LIKE your dad)
Only hours after posting it, we got an email from someone asking questions. Great! But, the next day I get another email from her, wondering why I didn't reply?? I replied again, only this time got an actual return mail saying her inbox is over-quota. SO FRUSTRATING!!! Someone wants to buy my house and now can't because they won't delete their old emails? Just my luck.
We also put the sign up in front of the house, too funny to see all our NEIGHBORS drive slowly by so they can see what we're asking. No potential buyers that I've seen yet, but oh well! I'll keep you all updated!

Big News...

My wedding- San Diego temple- Feb. 7, 2004
My sister Holly is engaged! True to Mormon culture, they have not been dating long. But they have known eachother since high school, if that makes it any better;) They are getting married in the Manti Temple (That's right Becky and Mica... I'm coming down!!) on September 1st. I am so excited for her, they are just so cute together. I went dress shopping with her and it made me miss the whole wedding/marraige excitement. I think I may be the over-bearing sister as I keep calling her with ideas, tips and things she has to do! I told her I may never have daughters, so give me a break!
Turns out Jack just had a bug bite on his ear. I didn't know that a bug bite could cause cauliflower ear, but whatever.
I am also making a quilt for Holly's wedding, I so wish I could post the fabric I've choosen and the pattern (SOOOO NOT your grandmother's quilt) but she reads this blog sometimes when she's exhausted all other options of what to do with all her spare time.
Congrats Holly, I love you!!

Being a first time Mother..

this has me FREAKED out. I picked up Jack from my mom this evening and saw it. She told me earlier today that it was red and starting to swell.. but that she didn't think it was anything to worry about. (Of course, this is coming from a woman who has 5 kids;))
Anyways, called the doctor and was told to bring him in in the morning. I'm thinking "No helicoptors, huh?" Apparently, he's not going to die. But, I was scared.
We almost have our bathroom done. My house is a SUCH a mess. I need to look into some storage units to get some of our stuff OUT of the house before we show it. It's been so hard to work on the house with all the family that's been here and with the beautiful weather.
Heidi (my sister) has already sold her house, so we are behind! They sold it for more than they thought they would get for it, so that's a good sign.
I got some more fabric today from my big order, some of it had been backordered. I have a few projects that I'm kicking around, I'm seriously wondering what Jeremy will say if I pull out my sewing machine in the middle of this huge mess and just start sewing?? That might be humerous.

For all who have been wondering..

This is the house we want to build. We probably won't build the parlor and the formal dining room area off to the right (just cut that part of the house out completely)because really- who needs a parlor? At least not when you're on a budget! We are also going to fill in the open area above the family room so that it will be a play room for the kiddos to keep all their toys upstairs (I guess it could also serve as a 4th bedroom if we ever need it)! The reason we have the garage on the bottom is because our property is on a hill and right now the driveway is steep, so we will be counter-sinking the garage into the hill and helping out all our friends who do not prefer to drive 4x4 gas hogs year round in order to come visit.
Jeremy went fishing yesterday with his cousin who flew up from Arizona to go fishing. The took the little zodiac out (yes, I mean LITTLE. People literally laugh at us as we go by them. And these are people who are STANDING on the shore.)His cousin caught a King and Jeremy had one until his cousin accidentally cut the line. He is out fishing again all day today as well. Poor guy.
Last night we went to Jalepenos with my older sister Heidi (her husband was working) and my little sister Holly, who by the way, has a pretty hot & heavy boyfriend..if you can call dating a few weeks hot & heavy..haha! They actually knew eachother from high school so it's one of those things were they don't have to spend too much time "getting to know eachother" since they already do. But, they are having fun.. we'll see where it heads.
