Fondue Recipe & Other Stuff

Since my last post I got the Christmas Eve pictures from Grandma Vicky (See Pirates above;)), got a new closet for Jack installed, and have waited EVER SO PATIENTLY for my alledged treadmill to be delivered. The second was lost somewhere between the East Coast and the West. The third has made it to Alaska and was supposed to be delivered Tuesday but they FORGOT it. Wow...we'll see if it actually comes tomorrow. My sister and I have been REALLY wanting to do this run, but I just found out its FULL??!! Argh. We will be a little more on the ball next year..we really want our mom to come too, its held on Mothers Day and is a big multi-generational draw. Lots of women even dress the Hippie Chick part. Anyways, not to say we're Hippies but the run is supposed to be fun and flying to Portland for the weekend couldn't be too bad either.;) Sooo. new quest is to find a run that looks fun and is able to keep me motivated.
I've had a couple requests for my Fondue Recipe, this one is SOOOOO good.
Gouda Fondue
3/4 lb. smoked Gouda cheese
1 large clove garlic, smashed
4 tsp. lemon juice
1 dash nutmeg
1 dash pepper, to taste
2 1/2 tablespoons flour
1 1/2 cups white cooking wine
1/2 cup whipping cream
1 dash salt, to taste
Gouda can either be grated or cut into small cubes. Combine cheese in a bowl with flour. Rub the inside of a small pot with smashed garlic, then dispose. Add wine and lemon juice and bring to simmer over medium heat. Reduce heat and add cheese in handfuls. Stir constantly with wisk while melting cheese in batches. When all cheese has melted, add cream and bring back to simmer. Season with nutmeg, salt and pepper. Top with chives or green onion tops for garnish (optional).Pour mixture into fondue pot to keep warm. Serve with french bread, sausage, broccoli, crackers etc. Serves 3-4

I am seriously drooling over the recipe. I love gouda. I have a cheddar recipe that's pretty good if you like cheddar. But gouda. Wow.
