We put the offer in and it was accepted - Yeah! So we are in the process of dealing with the financing. We really wanted to do Owner Builder, but as we've come to find it, it is almost impossible to get a construction loan unless you have an actual Builder that is building your house. They dont trust the average Joe to build a house... thinking we'll mis-spend the money and have to foreclose on a half-built house I guess. Anyways, we would need 25% down I guess, which would be more than $50,000 cash...SORRY, don't have that!! But we've bought just the lot on a 6 year term, the payments are high since they don't let you drag it out over 30 years. We are now in the race to sell our house. The quicker we get out, the less double payments (mortage plus land payments) we make. We are moving into Jeremy's parents house while we build, they have an extra bedroom with attached bathroom and an extra bedroom for Jack. Has anyone here ever had to live with your parents post marraige?? Any suggestions? I am nervous about all the changes we will have to make, but I know in the long run it will be worth the sacrifice.
Jack and I are going out to the Valley today to see my older sister, we are sewing hooded towels for kids. We are using a normal size towel with a cute hand towel of a coordinating print for the hood. I will post pics when we're done.
By the way, CONGRATULATIONS to my little sister Holly, she is graduating from USU today. Way to go, Holls! I'm proud of you!
Have a great Saturday everyone!!

Congratulations on building!!! It sounds like you have a lot to look forward to. I am sure that the time you live with family will be worth it in the long run. Post pictures of the hooded towels. I have always wanted to make those. Have a great Sunday!
Congratulations on building. Let me know how it goes. We will be building in a few years as well.
We lived with my parents after we were married for a few months when our daughter was a baby and I was way more uncomfortable with it than my parents were. We had a nice long chat before we moved in (mostly for my own peace of mind) about our expectations of each other and all that and it was fine.
I want to see some pics of your land! My SIL and her hubby just moved back in with my IL's for awhile. Hopefully it will work out for you guys!
CONGRATS on the land - very cool. We lived with my parents for a couple of months while our house was being worked on - it was fine. I guess it depends on how well you get along with your parents though - good luck. :)
Wow, building...good luck.
So we live with my parents right now. It isn't too bad. I am glad it is my parents and not my inlaws. Both my parents work all day, so that is good. The best advice that I can give ya, is to keep the communcation lines open. If you are bugged, let them know. The hardest part for me is when they try to discpline my kids, and they do it differnt then I would like. So that is the hardest part for me, good luck. I you need someone to complain to, I am here, and I understand. :)
