Sarah Palin: Alaska's sweetheart

I am not usually a Political person.. okay, I'm still not, but I will say this: Alaska loves Sarah Palin. (And it's Pay (as in rhymes with day)- lin.) We loved her long before she made national headlines. She came to office and immediately tried to clean up after our past loser Governor, who thought he needed all the luxuries life can bestow. One of her first orders of business was to sell the State Jet that he had to have. She has done some "cleaning house" to say the least. She is a strong woman and one of great character. She is a family woman. And yes, her daughter is pregnant. I think we can all agree that no matter how well you teach your children, in the end.. they have their agency.

This was her statement after giving birth to her Down syndrome baby, Trig, in April:
"We knew through early testing he would face special challenges, and we feel privileged that God would entrust us with this gift and allow us unspeakable joy as he entered our lives"..

We may be a little biased up here in Wasilla. :) It is small enough that we all have connections to her:
-Her parents live literally around the corner from mine.
-Her sister works at the same dentist office as my mom.
-I babysat for the loser trooper that she is under investigation for trying to get fired. (I worked with his wife at the time, whom he cheated on.)
Anyways just wondering your opinions on her?

YAY! I have been wondering what you think about her. So far I really like her, and I'm so sick of the pregnant nonsense going on. I'm so glad you could give us your perspective!

Wow you do have some close connections with her! A few weeks ago Aaron's Grandma and Grandpa were on the same flight from Fairbanks with her and they reported that she was riding COACH with them. I think that's awesome--so down to earth. I am amazed at how she keeps it all together with her family and obviously very busy political career. I'm tired of hearing about her "lack of experience." Isn't that why they (the pres and VP) have millions of advisors who are experts on all the details!? I think she would do great--like you said she has great character. I love the quote about Trig. I'm not into politics either, but having her in the race has definitely made me pay attention. Wow, sorry this is so long......

She seems like she would be good to me. I don't think I'll vote that way, (unless she and Biden decide to switch places:) I couldn't care less if her daughter is pregnant. It seems like in instances like these, everyone in the world forgets that people make mistakes and that it's not the end of the world.

The more I learn about her, the more impressed I am! She seems to be quite the level-headed woman both in a political and motherhood sense. I'm sick and tired of the criticism and judgements she's getting because of her daughter who is struggling. Where are the feminists now? Here I go....sorry. :) Great post!

Thankyou for posting about her! My initial reaction was of complete shock but the more i hear from her the more i think she'll be great! She will only help McCain. He needs it since we can AFFORD to have the other option win!

It's good to hear all that from someone who "knows" her - at least a lot better than me!

Also - Siyah was that exact monkey for Halloween last year - and we also have the same pea costume from her 1st Halloween that we're thinking of putting Ollie in this year! Funny huh?! We must have gone to the same design program or something!
