My sister Holly wrote a post recently about my father that describes this man to the T. (Or is it "to the tee"?)
What is it about saving a few bucks that makes us feel so great?
I was thinking last night about what the "perfect day" would entail. I thought "Well, everyday is a perfect day that I have my family safe and healthy". And then I realized.. that somewhere in that day I would also go shopping and get some great deals on clothes, shoes and home accessories that were just the right size, color and fit for my needs. :)
I realize that christmas is over commercialized. But my argument is that there is room for all aspects of christmas. Just because I decorate my house with garland (shiny silver and gold, please) (kidding!!) does not make me any less aware of what this holiday truly means... does it?;)

Your dad sounds hilarious! You've gotta love scoring a great deal. I'm with you--putting up the tree, wrapping gifts, decorating, etc all may seem superficial, but I love it and the magical feeling it all creates around the holidays!
