Big News...

My wedding- San Diego temple- Feb. 7, 2004
My sister Holly is engaged! True to Mormon culture, they have not been dating long. But they have known eachother since high school, if that makes it any better;) They are getting married in the Manti Temple (That's right Becky and Mica... I'm coming down!!) on September 1st. I am so excited for her, they are just so cute together. I went dress shopping with her and it made me miss the whole wedding/marraige excitement. I think I may be the over-bearing sister as I keep calling her with ideas, tips and things she has to do! I told her I may never have daughters, so give me a break!
Turns out Jack just had a bug bite on his ear. I didn't know that a bug bite could cause cauliflower ear, but whatever.
I am also making a quilt for Holly's wedding, I so wish I could post the fabric I've choosen and the pattern (SOOOO NOT your grandmother's quilt) but she reads this blog sometimes when she's exhausted all other options of what to do with all her spare time.
Congrats Holly, I love you!!

Did I miss something?

Or did Elton John start swinging the other way?
When we went up to the Box Office in Vegas to pick up my ticket (Oh yeah! Went to Vegas last week!) for the concert, they had me read the disclaimer that Elton John was for mature audiences only and that there were images that could be considered offensive such as partial frontal nudity.
I'm thinking: Just play the PIANO Elton!
Turns out, the "video" background that played while he sang had boobs. Lots of them. Not to mention the 15 foot inflatable boobs that were inflated over the audience or the 15 foot long banana with two conspicously placed cherries at each side.
And what does this have to do "Daniel"? I have no idea.
Anyways, other than that- the show was good. Because we were in the 3rd row, we were invited up onto the stage to stand by his piano while he song the song "Saturday" (Or whatever its called- Sad- I don't even know!) I touched his "Red Piano".
He was kind of funny though- he talked about Celine Dion, how we were on her turf but that she had gone on tour with Rage Against The Machine and was out promoting Krispy Kreme donuts. Too funny.
Anyways, so the Bellagio was amazing. I LOVE the flower garden and if I ever become a Billionaire who has no idea what to do with my money, I will have one in my home that is similar.
In other news, Tina (jeremy's sister) had her baby. Joshua James born on Mothers Day at 2 im the moring. We were there at the hospital and saw him fresh out of the oven as they weighed him. He is SOOO cute and looks just like her husband. We decided he crys in an Australian accent as well, just like Dad.
Yesterday, Melinda had her baby (good friends of ours). Jacob Jaxon was born on the same birthday as his uncle, Jaxon, who died two years playing hockey at BYU. So it was a very special day.
ALSO- My sister, Heidi, put an offer in for a lot that is literally only 4 houses down from ours. They are now building too! It will be so fun to live close, to have the cousins close.
Anyways, I hope everyone had a wonderful Mother's Day!

Found a Lot!

This weekend we went out to the Valley to drive around and look for "For Sale By Owner" signs since I've been checking the MLS every day for months and have found nothing that we're interested in. We first found a 1.2 acre lot ON A LAKE but because of the trees, you couldn't really see it and because of the incredibly rough land, it was virtually an un-buildable lot (Unless of course we wanted to spend $30K+ to make it buildable.. which we didn't)
Then, we drove back into another newer neighborhood that someone tipped us off to. The subdivision has ALL lots between 2-3.5 acres. All the houses are surrounded by trees and secluded. They are all big, nice houses. There was literally only 1 to 2 houses per street, the rest of the lots were vacant but as we found out later, already purchased. We were so excited to see ONE For Sale By Owner lot at the end of a culdesac and up a hill. We drove up ad came to a flat building spot with 360 degree views of the whole valley, and complete seclusion. We were soo excited, but since there was no price listed, not to hopeful.
We called the guy and were shocked that it was actually 20k less than the lake lot and we liked it so much more!
So we are going out again tonight to meet the owner and put an "offer" in.
Can't wait!

I also found out last Friday that I got First Place (which is actually second place because there was a Grand Prize which is better than first place) in a local design competition. I got a $250 gift card to a local kitchen applaince store (will be using that on the new house!)and published in Alaskas Best Kitchens magazine. The same kitchen was actually on the cover of Alaska Home magazine last month but didnt mention my name, just had an interview with the builder. I was still just as excited about that, because its not like anyone knows who I am anyways haha!
Jack has been doing good, he is really starting to get the cutest personality. He is SOOOOO busy. Theres just no better word to describe. So much to do, so little time. Like.. taking the ball in his hand and trying to stuff it in the reluctant dog's mouth.
